MISOGYNY

Misogyny 

This is one topic that really infuriates me. To begin, if you don't know what misogyny is, the dictionary definition is, "Dislike of, contempt for, or ingrained prejudice against women." Basically, misogyny is thinking that women are worth less than you simply BECAUSE  they are women. This has been going on forever, and this needs to stop. You may think, "So what? I'm not hurting women." If you are a misogynist, you ARE, in fact, hurting women. 
 Women are still paid 78 cents per a man's dollar (That's white women by the way; women of color are paid even less). IT'S 2015.  This is ridiculous and pointless. Also, women are constantly getting catcalled on the streets (I'm not saying women are NEVER catcalled, but it's much more likely for a woman to get catcalled). I am 13 years old and I've been catcalled by a man with white hair. That is disgusting and terrifying. Also, women get raped and tried unfairly. First of all, they shouldn't be getting raped, but it makes the situation worse when all the news talks about is the "promising future" the RAPIST had before he committed a crime. It is the rapist's fault. He should not have raped this woman. It comes off as if they are thinking and saying, "Who cares about this emotionally and physically traumatized girl who is going to take months to recover, fear other sexual areas in her life, possibly get PTSD, feel unsafe around men for the next 2o years, etc. That is saddening. It is hard to believe that we live in a world that still treats women this way. I get angry every time I think of  my future grandchildren being blown away after learning these facts about today's society.
